Use this to ...

  • Create stacked or chained dimensions with an angular distance between the selections.
  • The following video demonstrates how to create Angle Between dimensions. Do not adjust your volume; there is no sound associated with this video.

Prerequisites

  • Solid Edge must be in the Profile mode. Profile mode is automatically activated when creating a sketch feature or creating a profile for a feature.

Process: Creating Angles Between Dimensions

1. clip_image004[1] Select Angle Between from the Distance Between fly-out on the Draw toolbar. clip_image010

2. In the Graphics window, pick the base location. The base object highlights.

3. Pick the second object. The second object highlights and the dimension displays.

4. If necessary, select from the Orientation list on the ribbon bar.

5. clip_image011 If necessary, activate Compliment on the ribbon bar.

6. Pick the location of the dimension.

7. Pick the next curve. Move the cursor to display the second dimension as stacked or chain.

8. Pick the location of the dimension.

9. Continue picking the curves for dimensioning, and placing the dimensions. The dimensions continue placement in the selected style, stacked or chained.

10. Right-click to finish or select a new base location.
