Way to protect your online privacy is to surf by changing your ip address while using sites that you don't trust. Here you can get the methods to change your ip address in Windows XP, Vista, 7, & Mac, using the popular browsers Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox & Mac Safari

Change IP Address in Internet Explorer

1.    Go to Internet Options under the Tools menu.

2.    Click on Connections tab.

3.    If you use a dial up connection, select currently active connection and click on Settings button.

4.    Check the check box labelled "Use a proxy server for this connection".

5.    Fill the IP address and Port number and click on OK button. (Use our proxies or get your own)

6.    If you use cable or DSL, click on the LAN Settings button, and repeat step 4 and 5 for that connection.

7.    Click the OK button to finish. Now feel free to surf anonymously with changed ip address.


Change IP Address in Firefox  

1.    Click on Tools and then click on Options.

2.    Click on Advanced button at the top of pop up window.

3.    Now choose Network tab and go to Connection settings.

4.    Click on Manual proxy configuration radio button.

5.    Now set the HTTP Proxy and Port Number. (Feel free to use these)

6.    Click on OK button. Now you can access the Internet with a changed ip address. 

Change Your IP Address in Mac's Safari  

1.    Go to Edit and click on Preferences.

2.    Click on Advanced button.

3.    Click on Change Settings button which is just next to label "Proxies".

4.    For dial up connections, select the Internet connection for which you want to change your ip address.

5.    Click on settings.

6.    Click on the check box labelled "Use a proxy for this connection" and enter proxy port and ip address in text boxes.

7.    Click on OK button to change your ip address with anonymous proxy ip address.
For LAN Connections, you need to click on "LAN Settings" Button after step 3, and enter anonymous proxy ip and port as in step 6 and 7.

Based on the wonderful growth of the internet, it soon became evident that the IP address space would quickly become exhausted if the growth continued. To account for this, the IETF looked for ways in which the address space currently obtainable could be extended. A future solution exists in the kind of IP version 6 (or IPv6 for short), which makes use of a much larger 128-bit addressing system. In order to deal with the issue in the shorter term, it was decided that definite address ranges would be deemed "private".

Private IP Address Range:
Class A(/8) : 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
Class B(/12) : 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
Class C(/16) : 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255
Note:
/8 = First 8 Bits are used for Network ID
/12 = First 12 Bits are used for Network ID
/16 = First 16 Bits are used for Network ID
The idea behind private ranges of IP addresses is surprisingly simple – certain IP address ranges would be dedicated and limited to use for hosts on private networks. These addresses would no longer be considered valid (or be routable) on the public Internet. Instead, companies could allocate addresses in these ranges as they saw fit, with the address ranges open and available to everyone. Private IP addresses are a practical solution, since companies can use technologies such as Network Address Translation or Proxy servers to connect their private networks to the public Internet. When these technologies are used, a single public IP address can be used to connect an entire organization to the Internet.
As of 2008, IPv6 is generally seen as the only practical long-term solution for IPv4 address exhaustion that is readily available. However, although the predicted IPv4 address exhaustion approaches, most ISPs, software vendors and service providers are only just starting to consider widespread deployment of IPv6.
IPv6 Address Types
Increasing the IP address pool was one of the major forces behind developing IPv6. It uses a 128-bit address, meaning that we have a maximum of 2¹² addresses available, or 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,456, or enough to give multiple IP addresses to every grain of sand on the planet. So our friendly old 32-bit IPv4 dotted-quads don't do the job anymore; this new-fangled IPs require eight 16-bit hexadecimal colon-delimited blocks. So not only are they longer, they use numbers and letters. At first glance, those mondo IPv6 addresses look like impenetrable secret code:

Let's look at the different types of IPv6 addressing.

Under IPv4 we have the old familiar unicast, broadcast and multicast addresses. In IPv6 we have unicast, multicast and anycast. With IPv6 the broadcast addresses are not used anymore, because they are replaced with multicast addressing.
IPv6 Unicast
This is similar to the unicast address in IPv4 – a single address identifying a single interface. There are four types of unicast addresses:
  • Global unicast addresses, which are conventional, publicly routable address, just like conventional IPv4 publicly routable addresses.
  • Link-local addresses are akin to the private, non-routable addresses in IPv4 (10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, 192.168.0.0/16). They are not meant to be routed, but confined to a single network segment. Link-local addresses mean you can easily throw together a temporary LAN, such as for conferences or meetings, or set up a permanent small LAN the easy way.
  • Unique local addresses are also meant for private addressing, with the addition of being unique, so that joining two subnets does not cause address collisions.
  • Special addresses are loopback addresses, IPv4-address mapped spaces, and 6-to-4 addresses for crossing from an IPv4 network to an IPv6 network.
Multicast in IPv6 is similar to the old IPv4 broadcast address a packet sent to a multicast address is delivered to every interface in a group. The IPv6 difference is it's targeted instead of annoying every single host on the segment with broadcast blather, only hosts who are members of the multicast group receive the multicast packets.
Anycast address is a single address assigned to multiple nodes. A packet sent to an anycast address is then delivered to the first available node. This is a slick way to provide both load-balancing and automatic failover.
Address Dissection
Let's take another look at our example IPv6 address:

The prefix identifies it as a global unicast address. It has three parts: the network identifier, the subnet, and the interface identifier.
IPv6 addresses must total 128 bits. IPv4 addresses are represented like this:

Eight blocks of 16 bits each are required in an IPv6 address. The IPv4 address occupies 32 bits, so that is why there are only seven colon-delimited blocks.
The local host address is 0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001.
Naturally we want shortcuts, because these are long and all those zeroes are just dumb-looking. Leading zeroes can be omitted, and contiguous blocks of zeroes can be omitted entirely, so we end up with these:

As hurricane season enters its most active time, tracking those storms can be a breeze with apps for the iPhone & iPad.
Hurricane Irene hammered Puerto Rico & is expected to collect deadly momentum when it reaches Florida in the next 48 to 72 hours. Hurricane season in the Atlantic begins June one & ends November 30; the Eastern Pacific hurricane season begins May 15th & also ends November 30. The season peaks beginning in mid-August, says National Weather Service meteorologist Alfredo Vega.
Here are some apps to keep you informed:
NOAA Now app, & a freebie, provides information from the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration including: hurricanes & tropical storms in the Atlantic, Eastern Pacific & Central Pacific cyclone basins, mainland storms, including tornado & extreme thunderstorm alerts.
The Weather Channel, offered free, is a nice place to start. In addition to detailed reports & forecasts to make even the most staunch person lose the desire to leave the basement shelter, there's iWitness weather updates. Seasoned weather watchers also recommend following the mobile version of the TV channel.
The Twitter iPhone app will also help keep you informed, in addition to using hash tags in search mode, the National Hurricane Middle has started a feed for each hurricane. They are informative with plenty of pics & entertaining to read even while your teeth chatter. For example Irene wonders:  Does this shade of purple make me look fat?  The NHC also hosts hurricane alert feeds on Twitter, @NHC_Atlantic  & @NHC_Pacific.
Hurricane Tracker, which bills itself as the most comprehensive hurricane app, has swept to the top of the paid iTunes weather apps. For $2.99 it offers real-time updates & threat level maps and push alerts. Its so entertaining & informative, iTunes reviewer News JunkieBob said that he uses it even when there is no threat of a tropical storm, adding that he likes to scan the satellite maps to check the Florida weather.

(Reuters) - Forecasters on Tuesday warned residents of Los angeles & Los angeles to brace for possibly extreme afternoon weather as a cluster of powerful thunderstorms pushes eastward out of Iowa.

Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck are making room for more infant. The couple confirmed that they are expecting their third kid. 
They confirmed the news to The Associated Press, basically saying that they are "thrilled" to have another infant. The pair, who married in 2005, already have daughters, Violet, aged five, & Seraphina, aged two. 
"She's always wanted children," a source told UsMagazine.com of Garner. "This was her plan all along." 
In addition to a growing relative, Garner & Affleck still have busy film careers to juggle. Garner, who recently starred in the "Arthur" remake alongside Russell Brand, has a lot of films on her docket, including "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," which he promoted at Disney's D23 convention, & "Butter." Meanwhile, "The Town" director Affleck will next star in Terrence Malick's forthcoming untitled project & is attached to the thriller "Argo." 
As for fatherhood, in an interview back in 2008, Affleck shared that he hoped he is a nice dad. "I hope so. I think all of us like to see ourselves as nice dads, but there is also that fear, 'Oh, I don't require being like my father,' or, 'I hope my infant doesn't turn out like me.' You know, I have those feelings," he told the U.K.'s Mirror. "So the key is optimism."
Garner spoke to Usmagazine.com earlier this year about how he manages to balance work & relatives. "You must have a great nanny, & you require having a supportive husband," Garner said. "We figure it out day by day. It is always messy, & it is never as glamorous as people think it is, but they get through, & as long as the children are happy, it is all nice."

Aug. 22 Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi's grip on power dissolved with astonishing speed as rebels poured in to the capital, declaring victory. Colonel Qaddafiâs exact whereabouts remained unknown and news reports said loyalist forces still held pockets of the city, obstinately resisting the rebel advance. Â We have no idea if they is inside or outside Libya,â Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, the chairman of the rebel government, the National Transitional Council, told a news conference in Benghazi.

Libya, an oil-rich nation in North Africa, spent over 40 years under the firm, if erratic, leadership of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi. But in February 2011, the unrest sweeping through much of the Arab world erupted in several Libyan cities. Though it began with a comparatively organized core of anti-government opponents in Benghazi, its spread to the capital of Tripoli was swift & spontaneous. Colonel Qaddafi lashed out with a level of violence unseen in either of the other uprisings, but an inchoate opposition cobbled together the appearance of a transitional government, fielded a makeshift rebel army & portrayed itself to the West & Libyans as an alternative to Colonel Qaddafi's corrupt & repressive rule.

Momentum shifted quickly, however, & the rebels faced the possibility of being outgunned & outnumbered in what increasingly looked like a mismatched civil war. Then as Colonel Qaddafiâs troops advanced to within 100 miles of Benghazi, the rebel stronghold in the west, the United Nations Security Council voted to authorize military action, a dicy foreign intervention aimed at averting a bloody rout of the rebels by loyalist forces. On March 19, American & European forces began a broad campaign of strikes against Colonel Qaddafi & his government, unleashing warplanes & missiles in a military intervention on a scale not seen in the Arab world since the Iraq war.
The assaults prompted of Colonel Qaddafi's sons to float a proposal that would remove him from power, which the rebels rejected. Meanwhile, their ragtag forces surged forward & back, unable to make progress against the army despite the help from above but no longer in grave peril.

In Washington, a constitutional conflict briefly flared after President Obama asserted that American operations did not rise to the level of â hostilities as defined in the War Powers Resolution, & that Congressional approval was therefore not necessary. A measure to authorize the mission for a year was rejected by the House, as Democrats deserted Mr. Obama in droves. But a Republican bill that would have severely limited the American role in the mission, also failed, with lots of Republicans voting against it â reflecting a bipartisan muddle on the issue.



By late May, the weeks of NATO bombing appeared to put the momentum back on the side of the rebels, who broke a bloody siege of the western city of Misurata. By August they were also making territorial gains in the country's east & west. Colonel Qaddafi rejected calls to leave power, defying defections by subordinates, increased economic & political isolation & NATO air assaults. The rebels themselves suffered from internal dissension & lack of training.
Six months of inconclusive fighting gave way within a matter of days to an assault on Tripoli that unfolded at a breakneck pace. By the night of August 21st, rebels surged in to the city, meeting only sporadic resistance & setting off raucous street celebrations by residents hailing the finish of his 42 years in power. Huge crowds gathered in Benghazi, the capital of the rebel-controlled eastern part of the country, as expectations grew that Colonel Qaddafiâ shold on power was crumbling.

  • A convertible tablet usually has a display that rotates 180 degrees & can be folded to close, screen up, over the integrated keyboard. Convertible models may permit user input through a variety of methods in addition to the hardware keyboard, including natural handwriting with a stylus or digital pen & typing through a screen-based application keyboard.

  • A hybrid tablet, sometimes known as a convertible or hybrid laptop, is like a regular laptop but with a removable display that functions independently as a slate.

  • A slate tablet, such as an iPad, has electronics integrated in to the touch screen unit & lacks a hardware keyboard. However, outside keyboards are available for slate tablets, a number of which function as docks for the devices.

  • A rugged tablet is a slate-like model that is designed to resist rough handling & extreme conditions. Rugged tablets are usually encased in a protective shell & have shock-protected hard drives.
The idea of tablet computing is usually credited to Alan Kay of Xerox, who sketched out the idea in 1971. The first widely-sold tablet computer was Apple Computer's Newton, which was not a commercial success. Technological advances in battery life, display resolution, handwriting recognition application, larger memory, & wireless Net access have since made tablets a viable computing option.
